In North Dakota, where I was born and live still today, we are fortunate
to have a full Four Seasons. The Fall season is probably my favorite with
the changing of the leaves, great deer hunting and those warm days and
Spring would be a close second as I find myself spending time on my John
Deere doing farm work and planting food plots. In the Summer, I’m often
traveling to Scheels locations across the Midwest or getting to the lake
with the kids and the time flies as hunting and back to school sneak up on
Sitting in our hunting blind yesterday for 9+ hours in -25 degree
temperatures, I found myself wishing Winter away. My cameraman had his
gloves off in the blind and was two layers less than me, while I sat with
hood up and tried not to think about the cold.
It has been determined, Winter is not my favorite season. Yet I still
appreciate the place where I was born, where I raise my kids today and
likely where I will spend a good portion of the rest of my life. Did I
mention I don’t like the cold?
