When you care about what you do in life and ultimately how you do it, it shows. There is no replacement for diligence, detail and care. I believe it’s evident in all aspects of life, not withstanding your career, family and personal desires. We cannot care about once piece of life and leave the others in disarray.
Without question, I believe we could use more care in our society today. I’ve yet to determine if it’s generational shift, effect of upbringing, or simply the internal motivation a person has to be the best at whatever it is they do.
When I experience someone truly giving care, I’m compelled to make note and in some way let him or her know what that means to me. Whether as a result of a service, product provided or simply in a relationship, there is no reason why our feedback should not be given.
It does not matter if you work at a c-store or a high-end restaurant, the fact remains true that caring is a gift, yet a gift that can be learned. It’s awesome to see the young man at Hornbachers bag the groceries with an engaging smile and welcoming presence as he chats while we are in line, the service manager at the auto dealership that understands your time and carrying about your vehicle or my housekeeper who often goes out of her way to bake my kids cookies with a note wishing us a good day.
Caring and detail is all around. Continue to believe and care as you do. You are special in that way. With our continued caring efforts, we can hope a shift exists as others realize and appreciate a life in that way.
