We live in a world where some level of promotion is required on a regular basis. Promotion may be required by our careers, as a result of the hobbies we are passionate about, or simply because of who we are in this world. In all regards, promotion can be a very good thing.
When does promotion cross the line and suddenly become something else? When do words like “ego”, “boastful” and “conceited” enter the picture because of one’s promotion?
Most people dislike talking about themselves, and dislike the idea of promoting one’s worth even more. In reality though, to accomplish things in life, we all need to be proud of who we are, confident in what we do for a living, and most importantly, we must be able to share about ourselves in a promotional way with others.
Our perceived value of what’s inside, what we have accomplished, and ultimately where we are headed are reasons why you should “speak up” and feel good about promoting yourself. Even though we’d like all of that value to speak for itself, promotion is needed. It is required.
