#Balance Brief – the people you meet

Traveling all across the Midwest, Canada and to destinations where planes are logistically easier, I have been fortunate to meet some great people. Every time I travel, it’s exciting to put a face with a voice and begin the process of creating a relationship.

When we meet someone on the phone or electronically through email communication, we begin to develop a perception of that person. The real depth of who they are can only be assessed when you spend time, and in most cases for me it’s while we are hiking, hunting and enjoying the outdoors.

Once the basics are covered, I feel like a sponge for learning more about my new acquaintance and what makes them tick. Often the conversations are based around what we are doing at the time, yet every now and again topics deviate where you really get to learn more about one’s values and passions in life. Those are great moments.

I am thankful when I am able to return to previous destinations and pick up from where conversations and relationships left off. To that end, I have been fortunate to develop some lasting friendships with those met in my travels. Our personalities click, we share similar passions and enjoying the outdoors together is now what we do.

I never rule out what a new relationship might bring. I’m excited to travel more and more everyday, primarily because of whom I might meet and how it may impact my life going forward.

Have a great weekend

I grew up enjoying the sport of hunting and have truly come to fully appreciate every aspect of the hunt…leading up to the kill. The show has taken me to some amazing destinations where I have met some wonderful people, places where I now visit on a regular basis.
